IAATI UK provides both formal and less structured training for professionals engaged in the reduction of vehicle related crime.
The IAATI Auto Crime Investigators Programme
IAATI UK delivers the only accredited course of its type outside of public service law enforcement. The UK Branch has in excess of 300 members from Law Enforcement, Insurance, Motor Manufactures, Registration and Licensing Agencies, Investigators and other allied groups and was granted “Approved Assessment Centre” status by IMI Awards in 2007 (The Institute of the Motor Industry) the principal motor industry and “skills for life” assessors in the UK. The course of 5 days training delivery is of interest to anyone engaged in the prevention, reduction, disruption, investigation, detection or enforcement of vehicle related or vehicle enabled crime. You do not have to be an IAATI member to be eligible. The specialist knowledge you take back to your workplace will bring cost based savings in what you do. Our aim is to deliver a package that assists students :-
- Become competent examiners, able to confirm a vehicle’s identity, examine associated documentation, and know when to refer a case for a more intrusive examination — or more intelligence focused “in depth” investigation.
- Enable investigators to gather, organise, and prepare evidence, - to conduct a meaningful investigation to a standard acceptable to prosecuting authorities.
Successful students will be offered Associate Membership of the Institute of Motor Industry (AMIMI). IAATI UK is currently re-writing the course to allow students to attend over several weekends avoiding long absences from the workplace.
